Ruzicka personally mills 90% of the local grains on a 40” New American Stone Mill. The bakery items from Manresa are hard to beat and it's no surprise to see a line out the door within minutes of opening.
Manresa and Manresa Bread were rightfully James Beard award finalists and Manresa itself has earned an astonishing 3-Michelin star title. They have been featured in 7x7, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, Sunset Magazine, Modern Luxury, The Wall Street Journal, Saveur, Esquire, Cherry Bombe and so much more.
Manresa Bread Monkey Bread is a showstopper and gets the credit it deserves. Made with mounds of fluffy, cinnamon-y dough, this monkey bread is one of the best local pastries around. If you’re hoping to get your hands on one, or two, we recommend ordering early in the week!
James and the Giant Cupcake - Sea Salt Caramel Cupcake
Founded in the summer of 2008, James and The Giant Cupcake founder Eurydice Manning brought to life her dream of starting her own business. Her inspiration came from a trip to NYC where she relieved the childhood joy of eating cupcakes and felt that they brought people a feeling that no other food could. Manning uses only sustainable ingredients in her cupcakes and even offers gluten free and vegan options to offer a cupcake for everyone.
James and The Giant Cupcake is a hot commodity for weddings and parties and is known for their beautiful wedding cakes and custom cupcakes. The business is highlighted by Zagat, Weddingwire and the San Francisco Chronicle.
Using only the freshest ingredients from local farmer’s markets, Manning creates cupcakes like this Sea Salt Caramel Cupcake. Alexander’s Patisserie - Banana Chocolate Croissant
Alexander’s Patisserie is served alongside the well known Alexander’s Steakhouse. Chef Partner Claude Le Tohic has brought his significant Michelin star experience to the creation of this business. The Patisserie presents a unique experience offering coffee, sweet treats and even afternoon tea with beautiful decor and attention to detail.
Claude Le Tohic is an essential asset to Alexander’s Patisserie, as he himself has earned the Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2004, the award of James Beard Foundation Winner for Best Chefs in America in 2010 and a Michelin Guide Three-star rating in 2010. Featured in Gayot multiple times, The Michelin Guide, Hoodline, Forbes, SF Eater, SF Weekly, and Eater SF, Alexander’s continues to live up to its name.

Gizdich Ranch - Olallieberry Pie
Located in the heart of Watsonville, CA, Gizdich Ranch is a 4th generation family owned and operated agricultural business. They offer tours where visitors can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery in the countryside while picking fruits right off the tree.
Gizdich ranch has established an admirable name for their Pie Shop that draws people from all around the Bay Area. They offer nine different types of pies that are made from scratch in their shop.
Gizdich’s Olallieberry Pie is simply exceptional. This pie is one of their specialties as olallieberries are hard to come by. The created the perfect mix of sweet and tangy with a flaky and delicious pastry.
Mutari Chocolate - Epic Brownie
Mutari Chocolate, based in Santa Cruz, CA, uses ethically traded fine flavor cacao beans from their farm to make small batches of their exquisite chocolate. As a small business, they specialize in a small variety of chocolate products, making sure every item they produce is the best it can be.
Mutari is known for their decadent chocolate products, some including their Assorted Truffles, Brownies, and hot chocolate with their house marshmallows. They're one of the only batch to bean chocolate producers in the Bay Area!

Anton SV Pâtisserie - Vanilla Mille Crepe Cake
Anton SV Pâtisserie is not your typical bakery thanks to their head Chef who moved to the Bay Area in 2012 with a love for baking. He was searching for a similar French mille crêpe cake that his family used to make back home, but couldn’t find anything close to it. He put his baking to the test and created something amazing in Anton SV Pâtisserie.

Larry and Shelly Pearson were inspired to create Pacific Cookie Co. in the late 1970’s and in 1980 they opened the first store in Santa Cruz, CA. Today the small business is adorned by locals and visitors alike bring people together with their affordable, homemade cookies.

Deux Cranes - Crème Brûlée Chocolate
One of the most beautiful and heavenly chocolate businesses around, Deux Cranes owner Michiko has created something amazing in her products. She creates art through chocolate and goes beyond traditional ingredients by using flavors like matcha, passionfruit and crème brûlée while offering dairy free, gluten free and vegan chocolate options. It is fascinating how Michiko brings together many different cultures in the flavors and production of her chocolates as she herself is a fourth generation Japanese-American.
